What is Capital Health Partnership?

Capital Health Partnership is a premium subsidy available to Tallahassee area uninsured, small business.

Capital Health Partnership enables eligible uninsured small businesses to offer a quality, comprehensive health plan to their employees at a 40% savings for the first two years of coverage.

Capital Health Partnership’s premium assistance is administered through the Capital Area Health Access Foundation, a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors drawn from the Tallahassee area”s business leaders.

What Coverage is Available Through Capital Health Partnership?

Comprehensive HMO benefits. The Foundation Board of Directors has approved criteria requiring a comprehensive HMO benefit package and any carrier offered must have achieved Excellent Accreditation from the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) in the Tallahassee area. Currently, CHP is the only plan meeting this criteria in the Tallahassee area and has been selected by the Foundation Board to initiate this program. The Capital Health Partnership”s premium subsidy is available for the CHP benefit package selected by most area small employers.

How Are Premiums Determined?

Rates are determined by the family tier, employee age and gender in accordance with State of Florida regulatory requirements. The Capital Health Partnership premium subsidy administered by the Capital Area Health Access Foundation is a flat 40% of total premium during the first two years of coverage.

Who is Eligible for Capital Health Partnership?

Your small business is eligible if:

Your employees are eligible if they are employed full-time (more than 25 hours a week) and have not had employer-sponsored health coverage for at least the past 12 months.
